Urban Air Pollution and its Effects on Human Health

Air pollution currently contributes to over 3000 premature and preventable deaths per year in Australia.* Associate Professor Vicki Kotsirilos AM will be speaking at this year's ACNEM Online Conference on Urban Air Pollution Link to Fires and Climate Change. Vicki will present some of the scientific evidence to describe how air pollutants, even in urban environments with exposures below accepted Government standards, can seriously harm human health and are a cause of a number of health conditions that commonly present to medical practitioners. She will also address solutions and how we can move forward to address air pollution. ACNEM President Dr Ron Ehrlich had a quick catch up with Vicki here to discuss some of what she will speaking about.
